Candice started riding as a child of 8 on a little mare named Flicka.

She took lessons from a lady name Carolyn Puckett in Orem in the early 80's.

 

By the time she was 11, she went to work for Rich Melville in Orem, who is a national level Arabian horse trainer.  She took jumping lessons on Flicka while working for Rich.

 

She was also introduced to the competitive horse show industry and was exposed to western pleasure, saddle-seat and hunter show horses. She began showing at that time.

 

She later moved on to the Provo area where she began training horses on her own for the public. Eventually she went to work for Cedarwood Arabians, owned by Steve Young, where she trained and showed many top quality horses to top honors.

 

During this time, she got married and started a family. After a short sabbatical with mommy-hood, she joined the family at Vista Farms and has been with us since 1997.

 

Candice is a top professional and has a positive competitive edge that really comes through in the show ring. She is an excellent instructor as well, and has a keen eye for detail.

 

She has been an active part of the many programs at Vista Farms over the years.

She has experience in Western, Halter, Hunter, Saddle Seat, Show Hack, costume, side saddle, jumping, Dressage, and reining.

 

Candice will, no doubt, be a part of the Vista Farms family for years to come.
